Neuropathy, a condition characterized by nerve damage, particularly in the feet, is a common occurrence as individuals age. This condition can manifest in various ways, one of which includes the bending of toes. When neuropathy affects the feet, it can lead to a range of symptoms such as tingling, numbness, burning sensations, and in some cases, muscle weakness. The bending of toes, known as claw toe or hammer toe, is often a result of the imbalanced muscle strength caused by nerve damage. This can not only be painful but also impact one's ability to walk and maintain balance.
