Massage Therapy for Every Body
Relax and Receive the Benefits of Massage Therapy
Meet Mary Jane Naone
My interest in massage therapy has been informed by many experiences. I am an anthropologist and archaeologist with a lifelong interest in health and healing practices. A massage class I attended in Thailand showed me the power of massage to build connection and support public health and further compelled me towards becoming a massage therapist. I'm excited to continue to learn about the cultural history of massage therapy and to promote healing and relaxation through the power of caring touch.

I am also an athlete and a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor. In 2022, I suffered a traumatic injury that resulted in multiple surgeries and a total joint replacement. Massage therapy provided me with relief from pain and increased my mobility. That experience provided me with a new perspective on health and well-being as well as being present with, and listening to, my body. I also gained new empathy for what it is like experiencing diminished mobility and pain and strive to help others through massage.
My Specializations
My practice in grounded in the integrated practice of Swedish and Neuromuscular massage (Description - NMT Center). Neuromuscular massage therapy (NMT) addresses tension and pain in muscles and soft tissue utilizing targeted, specific techniques to address trigger points. Swedish massage forms the basis of Western massage therapy. Originally a series of joint movements and exercises, Swedish massage evolved to include a series of gliding, kneading, friction and tapotement strokes to relax and manipulate muscles and soft tissue. Massage can be adapted to meet the needs and comfort level of each person. I have also provided pre and post event sports massage and can provide chair or table massage for events, retreats, or gatherings.
